Make Wine From Home

Making wine at home IS easy! If you can read , you can make wine. Here is a insert of my 24 page introduction to Making Wine at Home

People have been making wine for thousands of years. The earliest mention of winemaking is in some Mesopotamian texts – hieroglyphics – and they detail how to ferment the juice of grapes.
Apparently, we were making it long before written text.
It turns out that when grapes grow, there is actually yeast on the
outside of the grapes. If all you do is crush the grapes and keep the
juice around 75 degrees, the juice will ferment all by itself.
Of course, the types of yeast found on the outside of grapes are
many and not all of them produce a fine tasting wine.

Over the years, winemakers have developed many different strains and varieties of
yeasts. These yeasts are specifically designed to extract exactly
what we want out of the grape juice or fruit juice.
You could use Baker’s yeast and it would work. Feel free to do so if
you do not have access to a local wine or brew shop. Or, you can go
to an online store and order some EC-1118 winemakers yeast.

I know how scary it can be to start that first batch and you want your wine to be drinkable after all the effort your going to put into it.

If you are ready to make real drinkable home-made wine, that is appreciated by friends and family, You’re going to need a real Wine Making Book outlining every step in detail. That’s why I recommend The Complete Illustrated Guide to Homemade Wine  it has easy to advanced information for those wanting to take their winemaking serious.  So – whether you are just starting your very first batch, or you have been making wine for years – The Complete Illustrated Guide has it all.

Wine Glass Types

If you are a beginner wine drinker you can use this page as a reference to choose the right glass to the type of wine. There are the basic five types of wine glasses and each one will fit into the different wine categories.
The type of wine glass used will either enhance or downgrade the wine tasting experience.

1. Champagne – Champagne is typically not poured in a wine glass but a champagne flute. The flute has a
long stem so when you hold the flute your hand is at the bottom of the stem to prevent your hands warming the champagne. The elongated shape of the flute preserves the champagne bubbles.

2. Dessert Wine – Dessert wines have a higher alcohol content, therefore should be served in a small wine glass with a small bowl so the wine goes to the back of the mouth and the sweetness will not be overwhelming.

3. White wines – White wines are served in a wine glass with a more “U” shaped bowl to allow the
aroma of the wine to be released but with a long stem to maintain a cool temperature.

4. Red Wines – Red wines are served in a full round bowl allowing the wine to Breathe.

5. Brandy – Brandy glasses have a very short stem and have a large bowl because with brandy
you want the heat of your hand to transfer to the Brandy.
